You know truth matters—but you’re afraid of more damage.

You may feel anxious about what will be shared, how it will land, or whether you’ll survive it emotionally. Disclosure without structure can retraumatize.

What Is a Therapeutic Disclosure Intensive?

A Therapeutic Disclosure Intensive is a carefully facilitated process that allows the betraying partner to share the full truth in a safe, contained, and therapeutic environment. This process helps the betrayed partner receive answers with care and preparation—without additional emotional harm. The goal is clarity, not chaos.

Each intensive is customized for your unique relationship and situation. We’ll work together before the intensive through a series of online or in-person sessions to:

  • Gather background information and assess readiness

  • Educate both partners on the disclosure process

  • Develop support and stabilization plans

  • Prepare questions (from the betrayed partner) and answers (from the betraying partner)

  • Coordinate with polygraph examiners (polygraph required for participation)

  • Finalize the written disclosure document

Application for Three-Day Intensive

DO NOT fill out an application for your spouse. Each person must fill out his/her own application.

If you’re here, you’re already being brave. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to take the next step. Your story doesn’t end in brokenness — it can become a story of redemption, safety, and renewed connection. Healing begins with honesty. Wholeness begins here.

Couples Intensive FAQ

Below are the most common questions couples ask before scheduling an intensive. Each answer is written with transparency, care, and practical guidance — so clients feel informed, safe, and hopeful.

What is a Couples Intensive?

A Couples Intensive is a private, focused therapy experience — typically three days long — designed to help couples heal from deep wounds such as betrayal, infidelity, addiction, or emotional disconnection. Instead of spreading out months of therapy over weekly sessions, an intensive allows you to slow down, tell the truth, and begin real repair in a safe, structured space.

How is a Couples Intensive different from weekly therapy?

Weekly therapy helps maintain progress; intensives help create breakthroughs. Couples Intensives provide uninterrupted time for honesty, trauma work, and skill-building that simply isn’t possible in 50-minute sessions. They combine individual and joint work with practical tools you can continue using long after your intensive ends.

Who leads the intensive?

Your intensive is facilitated by Tesa Saulmon, LMHC, CSAT, a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist and trauma specialist. Tesa integrates evidence-based methods such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Restorative Therapy, EMDR, CSAT, APSATS, and faith-based trauma recovery to guide couples through both the clinical and emotional aspects of healing.

How do we know if we’re ready?

You’re ready if you both share a desire to heal, even if you’re unsure how. What matters most is willingness — to tell the truth, take responsibility, and engage with the process. Before every intensive, you’ll complete a screening call and pre-intensive questionnaires to ensure emotional and physical safety, readiness, and appropriate pacing.

What if my spouse isn’t ready to attend?

That’s more common than you think. In those cases, we may begin with an Individual Intensive to focus on your personal healing, stability, and boundaries. When your spouse becomes ready, you’ll both already have a foundation for truth-telling, safety, and self-awareness.

Is this faith-based?

Faith integration is always available but never forced. For clients who desire it, sessions can include prayer, spiritual reflection, or Scripture as sources of grounding and meaning. For those who don’t, the intensive remains fully trauma-informed, clinical, and safe for all belief backgrounds.

How long is the intensive?

Most Couples Intensives are three full days (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with breaks built in for rest and reflection. Customized 2-day or extended 4-day formats are also available depending on your goals and emotional pacing.

Where are intensives held?

Intensives are available in Pensacola, Florida, with limited sessions offered in Jacksonville for disclosures or retreat-style accommodations. All intensives are in-person to maintain safety, confidentiality, and depth of connection. There will be travel costs for out-of-town.

What’s the investment?

Your Couples Intensive investment reflects three full days of dedicated care, professional preparation, and individualized follow-up. Fees vary depending on the couple's needs and structure. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure dates, and payment options are available.

Can we continue therapy afterward?

Yes. You’ll leave with a full Aftercare Plan that includes continued individual and couples therapy recommendations. Many clients continue working with Tesa or their local therapist to sustain progress and accountability.

What if we have a relapse or setback afterward?

That’s part of healing — not failure. Your Aftercare Plan will include clear relapse-prevention and emotional regulation tools. If setbacks occur, follow-up sessions or shorter 1-day refresh intensives can help you re-stabilize.

What if I’m scared?

That’s okay. Most couples are. Intensives aren’t about blame or exposure — they’re about creating safety for truth. You’ll be guided through every step with care, pacing, and structure. You’re not walking into chaos; you’re stepping into clarity and healing.

How do we begin?

Start with a brief consultation call to discuss your situation, goals, and readiness. From there, you’ll receive pre-intensive forms and a custom proposal with available dates. Healing begins with one step — honesty about where you are, and hope for where you want to go.
